Marketing has taken a jump ahead from what used to be in the past before. The ever changing environment has led B2B marketers to think how they can increase their leads and generate more ROI. B2B and B2C marketing being challenging environment. Though most marketers think email marketing being the top influential marketing tools in B2B to generate leads; yet it seems difficult in building a consumer demand due to changes in consumer preferences; and buyer's increasing research towards their own buying process.
We are aware that more then 70% buyers do an online research before they get in buying decision. And, to attract them our price becomes the most important factor to influence their buying decision at first instance.
As a B2B marketer here are some important rules that should be taken care of as a precautionary measures against being outdated from the market.
- Get to know your industry.How it is changing?, and what is in the market? You need to be updated and in line with the industry trends and culture.
- Make your content marketing more strong. Your contents should focus on the answers of what your client needs are. Answers to how their preferences are changing and what motivates them towards a buying decisions. Is it customer service, good quality, low price, good product or company brand ?
- Stay up to date with the technological changes. What used to be useful before may have changed as per the time, and you may still be in old school of marketing for attracting your audiences, which needs change now. Social Media is one of them which is in increasing trend , and as far as I know year 2012 companies are focusing more spending on Social Media too, to attract buyer’s decision and build brand awareness.
- Keep your pricing up-to-date and competitive. Even your price is bit high there should be something different that can attract your audience to your web or your phone lines. You may also look into the 'Power of Free' , but this may also not attract always if your products are not of quality.
- Increase you brand awareness. While planning for marketing strategy you need to have slogans that can match your audience expectations and needs. These slogans or advert pictures should change perception of clients towards your product in positive manner that can influence present or future buying from them.
- Invest in Online Marketing, that’s where your most of the leads generate. Separate budgets for your marketing accordingly.
- Competition is too high; focus how you can retain your existing customers. Your own competitors can seize your client from your own eyes. Entertain and delight your existing clients by some promotional offers or items or with some gift, provided your budgets are in line.
- Focus on Personal touch in your dealings with your clients. Buyers are human too and bonding is vital between the buyer and seller. Make them feel that they are your friends and you are there to help them always.
- Maintain Creativity and Innovation in your ideas and products that can differentiate you for your competitors to stay ahead in line always.
- Be a good communicator,an influencer in dealings. Adapt the skills as necessary with the changing marketing conditions.
- Look into your marketing strategy or tools performance measure and implement the feedback system in your strategy where you too can learn from your clients, where you too can know where are the deviations to control or rectify.
- Try to allow flexible goals which can be changed as per the clients demand.
Its always better to take precaution before something wrong happens. B2B market and marketing is challenging, and marketers need to know where they stand. So it is always better to be stay updated.
